Welcome to Dresden, the best place from which to experience all
Southeastern Ohio has to offer. You are just minutes away from
history, fine dining, shopping and adventure.
Dresden is best known for being
the birthplace of the world famous
Longaberger Basket Company.
We are roughly 5 minutes away from the Longaberger Homestead and
all of its shopping and dining experiences.
If baskets are not your thing,
a trip up to Amish country may be a little more your style.
Berlin, Ohio
with its old world goods and restaurants is just minutes away. Long winding roads compete with horses
and buggies make for a great day trip.
On the way to or from Amish
country, make sure to round out your history fix by visiting
Roscoe Village in nearby Coshocton. Sign up for a living history
tour of this 19th century canal town and don't miss the horse
drawn canal boat rides. Roscoe Village also hosts all different
types of festivals and definitely has something for everyone.
Perhaps the greatest attraction
that many people don't know about is
The Wilds Animal Conservation Park
near Zanesville. Sitting on 10,000 acres of reclaimed land, the
Wilds is equal parts zoo and safari experience. Sunset open air
tours are available to those who would like to get up close and
personal to any number of exotic animals.
These are only a couple of the
many things to do here in the area. Nearby Zanesville has a
thriving art community and the
Historic Y- Bridge, the only one of its type in the
world. You can visit and tour a number of excellent local
wineries such as
Ravens Glenn or
Stone Crest
Vineyards. Of
course, this is in addition to all that Dresden itself has to offer,
including a number of festivals and other events.
